What is happening in Calgary Real Estate?

The MLS metro single family average home price in December 2009 was $451,349 that is an decrease of 3 percent from November 2009 when the average price was $464,444. The average price from December 2008 has gone up 8 percent from $417,398.There were 799 single family homes sold in metro Calgary for the month of December 2009, which is an 78 percent increase from December 2008, where there were 449 sold. The MLS metro Condominium average price was $288,640 for the month of December which is a 2 perecent decrese from November 2009 when the average price was $294,264 . The was a 5 perecent increase in price from 2008 where the average home price was $274,919. There were 341 sales for the month of December 2009, which is an increase of 66 percent from December 2008. Sales have increased 78 percent in single family and 66 percent in condomininum from 2008. I beleive 2009 was the start of the great change ahead. We are see sales increase or at least remain stable which makes consumers more comfortable to buy and sell.
