What is happening in Calgary Real Estate?

The MLS metro single family average home price in February 2010 was $458,254 this is an increase of 4 percent from January 2010 when the average price was $441,217. The average price from February 2009 has gone up 10 percent from $415,568.There were 1,035 single family homes sold in metro Calgary for the month of February 2010, which is an 36 percent increase from January 2010, where there were 762 sold. The MLS metro Condominium average price was $282,880 for the month of February which is not much of a change from January 2010 when the average price was $282,639. The was a 5 perecent increase in price from 2009 where the average home price was $$268,971. There were 536 sales for the month of February 2010, which is an increase of 43 percent from January 2010. Sales have increased 36 percent in single family and 43 percent in condomininum from January 2010. I beleive 2010 was the start of the great change ahead. We are see sales increase or at least remain stable which makes consumers more comfortable to buy and sell. I believe the recession is behind us and we are moving forward with a stable and realistic market for 2010. Statistics taken from Calgary Real Estate Board. www.creb.com |
